Promoting Italy’s Cultural Heritage Digitally

Welcome to Italy’s Veneto region and to a digital project which is a source of real pride for Kumbe, not just because it is an example of a promotional and marketing web portal, but above all because it promotes and showcases 31 villas, castles, and stately homes which are a precious part of Italy’s cultural heritage.

It all started a few months ago, we spoiled it for you in our blog.

We have finally released the brand new ‘VilleCastelliDimore’ web portal online.
By ‘new’, we mean that such a website did not previously exist, it has been born out of the desire, determination and will of the owners of 31 famous and historic villas who believe that they could come together to promote this important and valuable part of Veneto’s history.

This digital project is intended to:

1. present and promote the locations which are part of this network through a new website.
2. support their marketing and aggregate everything that these properties have to offer
3. use the regional DMS to increase their visibility to users at the many touchpoints

We immediately embraced this ambition and began to work on it, beginning of course with the brand identity.

Brand Identity, an evocative image 

We began with the identity. It is crucial to understand who we are and where we want to go when constructing our image. Brand identity is important because it makes the first visual impression.

Kumbe created the brand identity for VilleCastelliDimore by carefully analysing the needs, desires and, of course, the emotional connection to transmit.

The careful design of the naming, pay-off and logo plays a strategic role for communications, and the promotion and marketing of the product.

A direct, descriptive name was chosen to perfectly encapsulate the tourist proposal and the experiences that visitors can enjoy. That name was deliberately maintained in Italy, as it is easy for speakers of other languages to understand.

Payoff Tondo

An Evocative and Profound Pay-Off

The pay-off played a more emotional role, with the choice of ‘Timeless moments in the land of Venice’ seeking to be very evocative, engaging, and mystical. It seeks to emphasise the historic heritage of these locations where visitors can get a real flavour of life in ancient times, experiencing Veneto’s rich history for themselves.

Logo Tondo

An Elegant and Refined Logo

The logo is an expression of elegance and harmony. Its curvy lines seek to express a timeless balance, with a romantic and elegant aspect. If you look carefully, where they intersect you can see the initials of the website’s name. In the centre is the ‘V’ of Ville Venete, to the left is the ‘D’ of Dimore and on the right is the ‘C’ of Castelli.

The dot in the middle is intended to reinforce and represent the solidity of the villas, a fixed point in history, an incredible wealth of heritage which has survived the passing of time, conflicts, and the trials and tribulations of history. All framed with a square to give a sense of order, elegance and again solidity.

User-Friendly Navigation

The design should always consider the user experience. Kumbe creates websites and destination portals which always put users at ease. Intuitive, fast and enjoyable navigation, reinforced by visible calls to action.

The digital project, technology and content

The creation of this digital project had a number of different objectives. With www.villecastellidimore.com we wanted to give users the chance to be inspired whilst finding all the information they need for their journey through the region’s villas, castles and stately homes, as well as being able to book accommodation, experiences, and services.

An all-round website which allows users to dream and then immediately start planning. The particular feature and added value of this portal is the specially design structure which allows every type of user to find their way and get the information they need. A portal which meets the needs of both B2C and B2B customers.

Themed Clusters

Highlighting the main clusters also helps to get straight to the point, helping users to quickly find the information that they are looking for without getting confused by illogical site navigation.

The topic of weddings received special attention: after all, who would not want to get married in an ancient villa surrounded by magnificent mediaeval frescoes? A similar level of importance was given to the MICE sector, where companies and organisations organise events, trade fairs, and meetings. Equally significant are the clusters dedicated to locations for photo and video shoots, as well as the food and drink cluster. All of this without every forgetting experiences and emotional connections.

The tone of voice developed for this project sought to “modernise” the visitor concept for this wealth of cultural heritage by also attracting newer generations.
We have retained the feeling of elegance, the aristocratic tone and we personify the product of Villas, Castles and Stately Homes as a passionate young man of the world who loves to travel and meet people. Someone who loves culture, an endless source of interest and curiosity. A warm, sharing tone of voice, where the art of hospitality in stately homes becomes an expression of character and style.
