A city divided into two parts: Ragusa Superiore, the modern part, and Ragusa Ibla, the historic centre, featuring narrow streets, pretty squares, and magnificent churches.

Ragusa Ibla, in particular, was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its remarkable Baroque architecture.

Visitors can explore stunning buildings such as the Cathedral of St George, the Iblei gardens, and Palazzo La Rocca, as well as enjoying superb Sicilian food in the city’s many restaurants. In addition to the cultural treasures, Ragusa also offers wonderful scenery with its green hills and valleys, ideal for hikers.

Kumbe Human to Digital is proud to present the web project developed for the city of Ragusa: Ragusa Welcome.

This portal has been designed to make the most of the city’s cultural, historical and natural heritage, offering users an engaging and informative experience. Let's take a look at the various different aspects of the project, from the copywriting to the design and technical structure.

Tone of Voice

Warm and welcoming

 The Ragusa Welcome tone of voice is welcoming, informative, and inspiring. Every word is carefully chosen to convey a passion for the city with clear and engaging language. The aim is to make visitors feel welcome, giving them guidance so they are informed and ready to explore the treasures of Ragusa.
But that is not all: the text that describes the story of Ragusa contain a pinch of the warmth that is so typical of this Sicilian destination, a feature that adds character to the message.

Engaging narration

Great care has been given to the website content, to tell the story of Ragusa in an engaging and accessible way. Each section of the website, from descriptions of the monuments to suggested tourist trails, has been written to inspire curiosity and a desire to explore in the reader.

The design of the website reflects Ragusa’s unique identity, combining historic elements with a modern feel. The colour palette and the images chosen create a Mediterranean feel and evoke the city’s rich culture. All of it aligned with the Destination’s brand book.

The structure of the site has been designed to deliver a smooth and intuitive user experience. Navigation is simple and logical, allowing visitors to easily find the information that they need.

Responsive Design

The site is fully responsive, ensuring an optimised experience on all devices, from desktop to tablet and smartphone.

In-Destination Digital Support

Ragusa has chosen to make full use of the potential of K·Tips from Kumbe, a feature which allows tourist destinations to look after their guests not only online but also when they arrive in the destination.

The city has a multi-channel web app to provide help to tourists, so that when they visit Ragusa and the surrounding area they can find the opening times of museums and tourist attractions in real time,as well as finding out about events happening in the area, public transport timetables, and the hottest bars and restaurants for an evening out.

By adopting this technology, Ragusa can offer a 360° welcome to guests, wherever they are and whatever they want to do.
